A digression. We are now in week two of our creative development process. It’s hard to believe things could continue to be as exciting as week one but they do, and yesterday was….? (Supply your own superlative – I’m too tired.) With Jane Murphy (Designer) and Rachel Burke (Lighting Designer) busily playing with hi-tech and low-tech toys, with a handful of generous actors, and with a few very basic bits and pieces at the ready we managed to find simple solutions to many of the text’s staging problems. Fight scenes? No biggie. Chopper rescues. Piece of cake. And here, four in the bed when Verity, her familiar, Skippy, and the rest of the household are transferred unexpectedly to an arts-incubation facility, The Sanatarium….
